Two Ways to Fuel Your Growth

There’s a lot to learn in a new job. For the first year or so you’re growing into the role, building and establishing relationships, creating your foundation and really just getting to work. But how can you sustain feel good growth for the long term? One thing is for sure, with the busyness of the day to day, it just doesn’t happen on its own. Here are two simple ways to foster successful growth for yourself in any role, well into your career. They will keep you fueled powerfully in your work and moving forward with all the focus and momentum you’ll need to create meaningful success.

Celebrate
Celebrating feels amazing and what better way to connect the time you’re investing into your work to the amazing results you’re creating!

At the end of the day, we all want to feel satisfied, accomplished, and appreciated for our contributions, yet very few actually take the initiative to think about their own work this way. Valuing your contribution, for yourself, is vital. What better way to create more of those great feelings than by celebrating your wins? Keep a running log throughout the week, reflect back on your calendar before you close down on Fridays, and lean into your achievements on purpose. You’ve earned it and the more connected you are to your value, the more aligned your mindset will be. When you take care and attention to connect and see the value in your own work, you benefit immediately.

Evaluate
Celebrating really is key to leading your own success story but don’t underestimate the power of evaluating your progress along the way.

Build in dedicated time and space each week to reflect and assess what worked well, what didn’t and what you’d do differently as a regular practice to keep you learning and improving in your role as you go. Imagine the impact of one learning from every week over the course of time! It adds up. The return on investment here is connection, progress and efficiency. Reflect objectively on your execution, look for opportunities and pinpoint any challenges that still need improvement. Stay connected to your goals and monitor your progress as you go with a simple evaluation strategy to keeps yourself honing and improving your approach, each and every week.

How you think and feel about your work is 100% within your control. Create the necessary time to reflect, learn and celebrate all you’re doing as a practice and reap the rewards continuously.
